Kitchen Design Trends for 2018

Kitchen designs are constantly changing, becoming more impressive, innovative and stunning as time moves on. When it comes to the kitchen design trends for 2018, this new year is no exception, offering a gorgeous mix of old and new which together create a series of magnificent designs.

With the rise of baking shows such as Masterchef and the Great British Bake Off, the kitchen has never been such a popular place to spend some time and, using our kitchen ranges, we’ve been delighted to oversee some stunning refurbishments going on as a result.

If you are planning a new kitchen for 2018, here are a few of the most popular design features that will be gracing apartment kitchens and larger homes of the most stylish individuals in the coming months.

Don’t be blue about blue

While grey, creme and white remains ever popular, kitchen designs are seeing blue hues really coming into their own, with shades ranging from pale to very dark. It’s a massively popular colour for kitchens at the moment and perfect for anyone looking to make a statement in their home.

It’s also a colour which goes nicely with bare brick walls, glossy white floors and wooden worktops to offer a stunning mixed material effect.

Wood Grains

As mentioned above, the strong colours, especially with this season’s love of all things blue, go really well with deliciously deep wood grain finishes.

The natural textured material gives a real warmth to the kitchen and contrasts beautifully with a splash of bold colour.

Bringing a touch of nature indoors is what it’s all about in the home this season and with kitchen designs it seems to be no exception.

Marble

Very popular for 2018, marble is again showing its hand. But, if your budget doesn’t stretch to the grandeur of some of the amazing marble worktops and splashbacks that are around, then there are plenty of ways to achieve the same effect, using similar materials which equally will be resistant to scratches and stains.

Mixed material kitchens

With the traditional style kitchen appearing to have the upper hand over the sharp edges and minimalist chic of the modern design currently, rooms which feature a range of mixed materials are all the rage. And kitchens of the future most definitely mix the old with the new.

In the same way as we mentioned above, perhaps look to mix pale worktops and light flooring with bold splashes of colour, such as blue or dark forest green. Add in natural materials to give a more traditional images, but keep in the more modern design features and appliances which make the kitchens of today such a pleasure to use.
